This Personal Data and Privacy Notice is issued pursuant to the Malaysia Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (“Act”) (“Privacy Notice”), and explains the type of data we collect or have collected and how we collect the data, the purposes of processing such data, the parties we disclose or have disclosed the data to and the choices available to you including how to access and correct such personal data.

In your course of dealings with us, we will request that you provide data and information about yourself, your organisation, your employees and/or your customers (“Personal Data”) to enable us to deliver the necessary services, deliverables and/or marketing in connection with our business.
Such Personal Data may include information concerning name as per identity card, preferred name, identity card number, age, contact number, residential address, email address, birth date, gender, occupation, designation, bank account details, financial and legal standings, tax information, solvency, information of spouse/ children such as name and birth date, information as to physical or mental health, religious beliefs, the commission or alleged commission of an offence and other such data necessary for the performance of our services to you.
We may obtain such Personal Data from yourself and/or from a variety of sources, including but not limited to:

  1. information or comments you have provided to us by whatsoever means and/or in whatsoever manner;
  2. information obtained independently by us or given to us from other lawful sources; 
  3. cause papers, notices, letters, search reports, contracts, agreements, forms and other documents provided to us either by you and/or other law firms or lawyers and/or other parties or persons and/or which we have access thereto; and/or
  4. subject to your prior consent, from third parties connected with you, such as employers, employees, assistants, family members, friends, and security providers.

We will request for your consent before using your Personal Data for purposes other than those that are set out in this Privacy Notice and in the privacy terms in your agreement(s) with us.

 

Consequences of Non-Provision of Personal Data

Where indicated, it is obligatory to provide your Personal Data to us to enable us to process your application for our products or services. Should you decline to provide such obligatory Personal Data, we may not be able to provide you with our services.

You have the right of access to your Personal Data upon payment of a prescribed fee and you may request that we correct any of your Personal Data which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
